Bringing Mercy Ministry to Life!

Divine Offspring Mercy Ministries Uganda is a Faith-Based Foundation to support the poor, and foster community sustainable development and advance the Gospel of God. Divine Offspring is fully Registered, with focus to the needs of the poor "Caring for the Least, the Last and the Lost" offering hope physically and spiritually. We exist to provide life essential services that restore dignity and hope to people in need” found in (Isaiah 60:1). A future with Divines, Making sustainable development a reality-through empowerment, promotion of Child Care, social-economic development, justice, Health care, Education, Agriculture and the relief of poverty by challenging and changing those practices that generate and sustain poverty among the OVCs, Youth, women and the community.  Our purpose is to foster community sustainable development among the poor.

We work primarily in Soroti District in Uganda, in order to build self-reliance, Education, Agriculture, Health and capacity Building. The Foundation provides a platform for the maximum expression of community useful creativity and the harness  potentials of Vulnerable  persons like HIV/AIDS victims , the poor, aged, persons with disability, lepers, destitute, , blind, deaf/dumb, women and children for the promotion of positive social change and transformation towards sustainable growth and authentic development.

We believe that God has pointed us to serve the people of Teso Region. Teso Region is a culturally mixed low-income, unincorporated of eight districts of Teso. While our services are available to any qualified residents in these communities, the majority consist of Iteso and Kumam families.

Our goal is NOT to change the cultures or the peoples Uganda, but to serve and help in them. We have identified three areas of need where we think Mercy Ministries can begin to serve these communities. Those three areas are:

  1. Food and Nutrition
  2. Primary school Education assistance
  3. A Transitional Living Home for OVCs

In JULY 2015 we started FEEDING programs designed to help OVCs and ELDERLY whereby we have received food Donation from Feed the hungry international, and this program is still going on even this 2016 and 200 OVCs and 150 Elderly are benefiting from this program.

 Secondly, we also see a great need for educational assistance for children in these communities. Education is a cornerstone of building one’s life up in a positive way in the midst of illiteracy and desperation. The local public school system has some of the lowest test scores in the REGION. For many of the children living here, English is not their native language as many come from homes that speak primarily their native languages.

These children are very capable learners, but need assistance in the educational process. Divine Offspring Mercy Ministries is calling upon volunteers who have years of experience in full-time education, individualized tutoring, and the development of a lifelong learning mindset to come and join us in providing services to the Needy in Teso Communities. Through a volunteer coordinated effort, we have two acres of land we would open the Kid Power Tutoring Center. And us network grows we envision expanding our education programs to include vocational training, assistance with job searching, connecting residents with local employers, and other education assistance for the adults of the community.

Thirdly, we also feel compelled to respond to the plight of the OVCs and single mothers by opening a Mercy Center Transitional Living Home. El Rio is not unique in having a population of young women who, through choices made early in life or by conditions not of their choosing, find themselves alone and responsible for the care of one or more young children. Many of these women possess few job skills, little education and are locked into a cycle of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, poverty, and desperation.

2 Timothy 2-4:22English Standard Version (ESV) A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus

2 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men[a] who will be able to teach others also. 3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 5 An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. 7 Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy, for:

If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him;
if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful.

1 Peter 5:1-14 ESV /

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Malachi 3:5 - And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
